Sustainability

In all the activities we do at Wappled, we think about how to do it as sustainably as possible. 

• Wood: we use only sustainably grown native European woods, such as oak, beech, cherry, walnut, maple, pear, etc. This ensures that nature can recover and generations to come can enjoy beautiful wood. With native wood species, distances and costs of transportation also remain limited. Non-native woods are often beautiful in color and markings. However, we use these woods only if we can reuse them. This means that this wood has already had a previous life in another product, for example as a tabletop, door, or beam;
• Production: we use only renewable energy in our production process. all products are tailored to your requirements and are made to order especially for you in The Netherlands with modern CNC technology. This also means that we keep virtually no inventory and do not mass produce;
• Finish: we use as many natural materials as possible to finish our products. They are first treated with natural nut oil (Tung oil) and then with beeswax. This smells great and small scratches and signs of use are easily repaired. Finally, our products get feet made of cork, so they do not scratch the surface;
• Shipping: we use recyclable packaging materials as much as possible, such as cardboard, paper, and naturally degradable padding chips

We are eager to see what we can further improve in the coming years.

Healthy

Wappled is a small but financially sound company. With a passion for the products, good working conditions, pleasure in work, and use of modern technology. By extension, we are looking for experienced professionals in the autumn of their careers who may not be able to keep up elsewhere. Or we look for young people whom we can train in the fine craft of woodworking. Size is not an end in itself.
