Wappled only uses sustainable hardwoods grown within Europe. Examples are oak, beech, cherry, walnut, maple etc.. This ensures that nature can restore itself, and our children and grandchildren can also enjoy these wonderful products of nature. Using European hardwoods will also reduce transportation distance, and ~ cost. Non-domestic hardwoods are often beautiful in color and texture. We only use these woods if we can re-use them. This means that the wood will have had a previous use in a different product, like for example a door, table top or beam. When we can buy a batch of re-usable non-domestic hardwood, we will label our products as a “special”. So, keep an eye on our website.

Wood is a product from nature. As a result, every article is unique. After manufacturing, your article is finished with natural tung-oil and beeswax. With normal use, small scratches will show on your product. That adds patina and character. If you polish your product with a soft and lint-free cloth, the warm shine of your article will return.
